Texas Tornados would like to introduce you to our new Tumbleweed Director Jennifer Wittenburg. Jennifer started her college career at UCLA as an outside hitter and completed her college career at the University of Houston where she still holds records as one of the school’s best attackers. Jennifer Wittenburg has coached club ball for 13 years. She has coached high school ball for the last 4 years and is currently the Head Volleyball Coach at Cy-Ranch. We are excited that Jen is taking over our Tumbleweed Program. Her energy is exactly what this program needs. Jennifer Wittenburg was Texas Tornados 13 Mizuno coach before she coached high school ball, because of UIL rules and not being able to coach girls that feed into your high school, Jen has coached 12’s, 14’s and 18’s since that time. Her coaching background in high school and club ball will help our Tumbleweed program to continue to be one of the best in the city of Houston. This season we will have 8 Tumbleweed teams, 4 – 4th grade and 4 – 5th grade. We are moving 6th grade to club as it is a huge jump between Tumbleweed and 13 year old volleyball. We have 12 local and 12 travel teams. Tumbleweed sign up will start September 1st, you can sign up on our website at www.texastornados.org.
