The league is designed to give team (high school and college) in the Houston area an opportunity to improve their skills throughout the summer. This league runs on a weekly basis for 6 weeks and offers the teams an opportunity to play 2 matches (2 out of 3 sets) each night.
Up officials will be provided, but each team must provide a down official, 2 line judges and a scorekeeper (flipper) for each match they ref.
Teams must consist of a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 12 players. Coaches are optional.
Club teams may enter as well as high school or college kids.
We encourage you to sign up as a team to ensure the level of play in which your athlete will be playing with throughout the league. Teams will consist of 10 athletes and will be placed with one of our coaching staff for the entire league. Even though you are signing up as a team, you must register as an individual and your team roster must be sent into Kara. But if you sign up as an individual, we will try to accommodate you. We can’t guarantee that you will get on a team.
The schedule for the 6 weeks will be determined based on the power league format so that your team will be playing competitive matches. The play schedule will be sent out to the team rep every Monday for that Thursday's matches. If you officiate, you must have the listed positions covered at that time. If you do not show up to ref, your team will be penalized.
There is a $35.00 cancellation fee for all drops, and there are absolutely no refunds 30 days prior to the start date of the league. You must be paid in full by May 15, 2010.
High School/College/USAV Rules will be applied.
Fees include gym rental, equipment and t-shirts.
